A year has passed since the foundation of the Critical Peace Network on January 11-12th, 2025. We are looking back on a year full of activities with the aim to strengthen solidarity and collaboration between civil society organizations working for social peace.
Fifteen organization have given themselves a declaration text. The Network’s website is in the making including a digital library of the work of its members and other civil society organizations in Turkey. Twice the member organizations and others have met in person in the past year to discuss civil society’s role in peace-building. These meetings have seen great interest both among civil society with the participation of 40 organisations in Amed and 28 in Istanbul, but also by a great amount of media and news outlets. The Network has published three podcasts, has organized two webinars and has started to build up an information network on its activities with three e-bulletins this year. It contributed to the ongoing peace process in the country by a public call named as “call for democracy peace and justice”.
