Discussion on a Work-in-Progress

“Freedom is when you can flex in peace … if I am here in Germany, I want to search, I want to broaden my spectrum. I want to think of new things regardless.”

If you missed our first discussion on the work-in-progress “Urgently Wanted: Freedom of Research and Learning”, we would like to invite you to another event next Saturday if you happen to be in Berlin. Join us for this afternoon of open discussion, video and radio play presentation and Q&A!

What does freedom mean to you? What is your experience of the freedom to study, learn or train in Berlin? Do you think that Berlin offers enough opportunities for young people to shape their futures without barriers?

We invite you to dive into and become part of the ongoing research project Urgently Wanted: Freedom of Research and Learning, where we will discuss these questions with the goal of engaging audiences from diverse backgrounds to understand their perspectives on the situation of educational freedom in Berlin.

New Berliners from Pakistan, Algeria, Turkey and Afghanistan who were already in higher education or preparing to continue their university education in Berlin, took part in our creative workshops on either radio or video production. Four days of intensive collaboration included an introduction to audio and video recording techniques, the definition of research questions, the collection of (audio and visual) data, the collective creation of the dramaturgy and finally the editing process of the documentations.

Thank you for answering this questionnaire after listening.

A radio play by Anouschka Trocker and Eunike Kramer with Alize, Pelagia, Sana, Zack
and visitors of the Long Night of Science.
