Research Projects

Off University’s online courses re-connect scholars and students at risk around the globe to academic learning, teaching, and knowledge production. The safe online space we create not only allows scholars to continue their profession and academic life, the courses also secure access to their critical knowledge. We develop online pedagogies to learn together in small groups of intensive exchange while enabling participants to stay fully anonymous if necessary for their safety.

Academic production can be emancipated from the four walls of the university building.

I often had the impression that scholars are reluctant to use the online space, but it can be used to negotiate authoritarianism and limitations on freedom of thought and free academia as well as organizing social and political movements. (voice of a participant in an online seminar)

An egalitarian, public home.

I can say that Off University has become an egalitarian, public home for me that is formed through trust, sisterhood and relationships built on solidarity.
