Overview
In this course, Turkish cinema will be examined as a practice that has accelerated the spread of modern lifestyles in Turkish society, and the history of the country’s cinema from the birth of the Republic to the present day will be studied in parallel with the stages of social and political change in Turkey. The Yeşilçam Cinema, which spanned from the 1950s to the 1980s and produced an average of 200 films during its golden years, reaching audiences in even the most remote corners of the country, will be at the centre of the course.
